  • ended up…「結局/最終的には、～でした」の意味。
  • ある行動を取った結果、予想外の結果になったことを表現する英語表現。
  • 結果として～になるという意味で、ネガティブな 場面だけでなく単に結果を伝える場合にも使える。
  • …には動詞ingやwith,inなどの前置詞がくることが多い。

  • t was pretty hectic. I ended up running a lot of errands and then had to work late.
  • That sounds like a lot of running around. What did you do after work?
  • I ended up just coming home and crashing on the couch. I was pretty tired.

sleep in 「ゆっくり寝る」※意図的にゆっくり寝ていることで、寝坊(oversleep)とは違う。
